Suicide Squad: 10 Lessons It Can Learn From Assault On Arkham

9. The Mission Has To Go Wrong

Assault On Arkham starts out with a simple mission. The team must break into Arkham Asylum and steal the Riddler€™s staff, which has an important thumbdrive inside of it. It€™s the standard superhero plot of having to find a secure a MacGuffin before the villain can. Of course, things are never quite that simple. What makes things interesting is that halfway through, the mission goes completely off-course. It lulls the viewer into thinking we know what€™s coming, only to completely change the plot dynamics by introducing the Joker and his plans to detonate a bomb in the city. The actual details of the team€™s mission in Suicide Squad are still fairly vague. It€™s rumoured to involve getting their hands on the volatile Enchantress, and perhaps Joker wants her as well. No matter the case, the film would be wise to draw some inspiration here and have the team keep re-adjusting, creating a frantic and unpredictable pace.
