Suicide Squad: 10 Theories About Jared Leto’s Joker

5. He€™ll Team Up With Lex Luthor

Suicide Squad producer Charles Roven told Empire Magazine that he thinks Jared Leto€™s Joker is €œmore social€ than previous incarnations of the character. Despite being totally sociopathic, he€™s also apparently €œa very successful and smart businessman€. Many have taken this to mean that there could be a team-up on the cards between the Joker and another big villain from DC Comics lore. The top rumoured team-upper to-be is Jesse Eisenberg€™s Lex Luthor. The thinking is, that after the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Lex will end up meeting the Joker €“ perhaps in prison, a hideout, or somewhere else entirely €“ and forming an alliance. This pairing isn€™t unheard of in DC's comics or animated shows. Lex€™s brains and Joker€™s mania make for a powerful villainous combination, and could provide a truly difficult for the Suicide Squad and Ben Affleck€™s cameo-ing Batman to take on. Imagine the Joker with an indestructible suit and other heavy-duty tech. He wouldn't be easy to defeat, would he? This theory coming true would also help clarify an important detail: if Joker shares lots of scenes with Lex, that€™d explain why he€™s not too central in the trailers. After all, if Jesse Eisenberg is in the film, Warner Bros might try to keep that under wraps. Perhaps there's a massive subplot for these two that's being kept secret.
