Suicide Squad 2: 10 Things It Must Do Better Than The Original
5. Make Amanda Waller Closer To The Comics
In fairness to Viola Davis and Suicide Squad, they got Amanda Waller right for the most part.
The seasoned actress brought tough-as-nails gravitas to the role and the movie painted her as a ruthless, borderline villain who just so happens to have the authorities on her side.
That ticks most of the necessary boxes, but fans of the comics will tell you that Waller is a totalitarian bureaucrat who is beholden to nobody and never asks permissions while getting things done.
In Suicide Squad, she carefully explains her Task Force X proposals to military personnel and government officials, but her comic counterpart would never have gone through such an official channel.
There's still time to fix this, though, as the sequel can present her in a more familiar light, still heading up the Task Force while operating independently. That will make her all the more dangerous.
