Suicide Squad 2: Casting James Gunn's DCEU Sequel

9. Margot Robbie - Harley Quinn

Even if Gunn recast 90% of his cast and started everyone else's stories from ground zero again, there's surely no way Warner Bros would let him drop Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. She was, after all, the most valuable brand to emerge from Suicide Squad (all you need to check out is the Halloween costume trends in the wake of the film's release).

To drop her would be counter-productive and even if Gunn reinvents her completely and chooses to cut the Joker (he shouldn't, but he COULD), she needs to be the one playing the character and she needs to be the main focus of continuity. Even with her own Birds Of Prey film coming.

Without her, Gunn would be scrapping one of the only positives of the entire first movie and Warner Bros really aren't that dumb. Particularly when they're calling it Suicide Squad 2 at the minute.
