17. How Were They Shot Down?
As the Squad (plus surprise last entrant Katana) fly into Midway City evoking Guardians Of The Galaxy with Spirit In The Sky, they're shot down by some trademark Ayer gunfire (bullets presented as lasers - see Fury).
This is the sort of that would typically be the set-up for a mystery about who the assailant was, or play as an early hint that Waller's up to more than the gang's been told, but instead they brush themselves off (not the last time that'll happen from a similarly deadly crash) and head out on their mission, never once questioning what the hell shot them down.
It's most likely some of Enchantress' goons, although how they got that far out from their base and, more importantly, why nobody thought that worth remarking on it at all is ridiculous.
