Suicide Squad: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From Trailer 2
5 Downs
5. Will Smith's Moving Too Far Into Comic Waters

Even when there were rumblings of discontent around the casting of Will Smith as Deadshot, his supporters could hold on to the fact that he wouldn't just be playing Will Smith in a new costume. The first trailer suggested Deadshot was going to be a dark, grumpy figure forced into cooperating with the Squad by some mysterious contract (most likely a threat to his kids). And that was all great.
But now, thanks to his interactions with El Diablo, you get the sense that he will actually be bringing some of his "trademark" humour to the role. He should be fearless, almost nihilistic and have the specific cockiness of a sniper, but he absolutely shouldn't have any room for goofiness in his performance.
Hopefully that playfulness is limited solely to that scene, and used as a defence mechanism against an obviously more powerful ally. If it turns out those rumours about a need to add more humour end up meaning Smith's character turns into Steven Hillier with a big gun, it's a killer.
