Suicide Squad: 8 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

5. An Origin Story For Deathstroke

One villain who absolutely needs to get the big screen treatment in the near future is Deathstroke. After making a huge impact in Arrow, it is in some ways hard to picture Manu Bennett's portrayal ever being topped, and that's why it would be very interesting and unexpected for Suicide Squad to actually tackle the villain's origin story rather than introducing him as a fully formed character. There has been an equal mix of speculation and rumours pointing to Deathstroke factoring into Suicide Squad for a while now, and taking a bit player like Scott Eastwood's character and having him go from good natured soldier to one-eyed assassin by the time the credits roll would be a very interesting and fun dynamic to play with. It also sets up a lot of interesting storytelling possibilities for the future. For this to really work as a shocking moment, the reveal that Eastwood's soldier is actually Slade Wilson would need to come out of nowhere. One way that could be achieved would be to have him lying in a hospital bed with only one eye after the movie's final battle when his full name is revealed (Slade Wilson JONES for example). That's a bit of a clichéd type of reveal, but you can't deny it would surprise you!
