Suicide Squad Movie: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

6. ...Or Assault On Arkham

The other recent depiction of the Suicide Squad in other media was in Batman: Assault On Arkham, the latest in DC€™s superior direct-to-video animated films. Based in the universe of the phenomenally successful (and frickin' awesome) Arkham series of Dark Knight video games, the Caped Crusader himself takes a back seat to the modern Suicide Squad team: lead by Amanda Waller again, with their number including Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Black Spider, Killer Frost, and KGBeast (who is killed before the mission even starts, woops). This time they have a very different mission and one which, based on the rumours, could easily be adapted into a film. What better reintroduction of The Joker to this new DC Cinematic Universe than the way he appears in Suicide Squad: despite being Harley Quinn€™s beau, and the rest of the squad technically being supervillains themselves, the Clown Prince Of Crime is positioned as the bad guy because he€™s managed to secrete a load of dirty bombs across Gotham city, even though he€™s currently imprisoned in Arkham Asylum. The Suicide Squad are tasked with breaking into the prison, dispatching The Joker, and making it out alive. Of course, it€™s not as easy as that...
