Suicide Squad Reviews: 10 Positives For Angry DC Movie Fans
2. Viola Davis Is A Strong Presence
The big bad might be problematic (it happens with even the most popular and successful comic book movies, so it's not THAT concerning), but at least there's a strong anchor point in the narrative in the shape of Viola Davis' Amanda Waller.
Her role was always going to be key for the longevity of the potential franchise (since she will presumably continue the project after the first movie), and making her both principled but deeply morally flawed was equally key.
Apparently, she nails it - scene-stealing from the flashier characters in fact, and the complaints that she's not in it enough are a good indication in themselves.
