6. Bonnie and Clyde
With its dubious portrayal of bad guys and bloodshed that changed the notion of screen violence its hard to believe that this film is now 45 years old. A Hollywood churning out a stream of musicals and epic blockbusters was knocked sideways by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaways immoral yet good hearted bank robbers. Even today, the slow motion shoot out and violent final sequence make you wince so imagine what it felt like in 1967. Beatty was never better as the infamous hood and Dunaway is ravishing as his moll, becoming instant heartthrobs in the process. It isnt that Leonardo Di Caprio and Cameron Diaz couldnt pull off something passable today but, as always, the question has to be why would they bother?
