Terminator: 10 Dumbest Moments In The Series

9. The Punks

Movies are a product of their time, and watching nearly anything made in the eighties, you can pick up the decade almost immediately. 1984's The Terminator is no exception. Though the first Terminator movie doesn't exactly have a lot of flaws, it hasn't aged particularly well (certainly not as well as Terminator 2: Judgement Day). One of the dumbest scenes in the movie involves a group of punks confronting the newly arrived Terminator. With spiky blue hair, a young Bill Paxton leads the group, who hurl insults like "this guy's a couple cans short of a six-pack" and "nice night for a walk a------." It must have seemed like a good idea at a time, but the idea of street punks looking like actual punk rockers and lines like that make the moment seem much more dated than the rest of the movie. The dialogue is '80s B-movie level and the punks are completely unconvincing. Even if the scene was a product of its time, it's still outright dumb.
