5. It's Being Written By Patrick Lussier & Laeta Kalogridis
Though not very much at all is known about the plot right now, what we do know is that screenwriters Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis have teamed up to pen the script for the forthcoming movie. Depending on what you think of their work, that may or may not be a bad thing. Which is to say, Patrick Lussier has written some pretty awful stuff over the course of his career, including the likes of Drive Angry (yes, that very terrible Nicolas Cage movie), and some straight-to-DVD Dracula movies. Not exactly the sort of works that inspire major confidence. Kalogridis, on the other hand, is a little more accomplished, though she has penned a few duds like Pathfinder and Alexander, too. Her best work to date, perhaps, is the screenplay for Martin Scorsese's brilliant thriller Shutter Island - a highly polished and brilliantly-rendered script if ever there was one. Hopefully together these writers can play on one another's strengths, and will successfully manage to craft a new Terminator movie that feels both fresh and unique, whilst embracing all those aspects of the franchise that fans love. We're rooting for you, guys.
