9. A Newly Re-Designed Suit
While this isn't the most recent news, seeing as how everyone and their grandmothers have seen Spider Man's new attire by now, it shouldn't go unmentioned. Peter Parker's version of the suit from The Amazing Spider-Man may not have gone well with the comic book enthusiasts and Spider Man loyalists, but the truth is the suit worked better than what most originally thought. By not being a complete mock-up of Raimi's original trilogy, it instead showed Peter's brilliance at crafting something by hand that isn't straight from the source material unlike Raimi's version, which basically went under pre tense that Peter made the suit off camera and somehow ended up close to what the comic book version resembled. That element made Raimi's Spider-Man feel exactly what is was replicating: a comic book film. Now Marc Webb's version of Spider-Man: grounded in reality to where Peter Parker himself designs his entire outfit out of his imagination, something that is distant from the comic book but throws in a touch of familiarity down the road. With the sequel, and with Peter Parker almost fully into the persona of Spider Man, it's time to make the jump into what the actual Amazing Spider-Man looks like. That transition between suits is symbolic of how far Peter has come, and it makes sense with his his character evolves over the course of both films. Even his web shooters are getting a redesign, which follows suit with everything else. When I saw the first look behind his new suit, the comic book nerd within me cried joy to the world. Because not only was Marc Webb ready to bridge the concept between both reality and comic book, but it revealed to me that the Spider-Man I know and love, have known and loved my entire life, is finally coming back for his second outing in 2014 just the way he's suppose to be.
