The Avengers Vs. Avengers: Infinity War - Which Is Better?

10. Narrative

Avengers Infinity War Iron Man
Marvel Studios

Both of these movies have fairly simple narratives at a base level, with The Avengers revolving around the heroes stopping Loki from conquering Earth, while Infinity War focuses on the scattered Avengers trying to prevent Thanos from acquiring all six Infinity Stones.

In terms of plotting, though, The Avengers feels decidedly more piecemeal, if only because it spends so much time focusing on the interactions between the focal heroes. Infinity War is certainly a more intricate adventure, with Thanos frequently hopping between locales and making some tough calls to get what he wants, all the way up to that stunning ending.

Winner: Infinity War, easily. Both elevate rather basic narratives with their strong execution, but the more recent movie brings with it the full weight of a decade of hype, and dares to go to far darker and more intriguing places.
