The Avengers Vs. Avengers: Infinity War - Which Is Better?
11. Novelty Factor
It cannot be overstated just how much of a novelty it was to see Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and so on sharing the screen for the very first time back in 2012. It was wish fulfilment on the most epic scale imaginable, at least at the time. It truly felt like a cinematic event, and honestly still does.
While Infinity War doesn't boast quite the same spine-tingling, goosebump-raising freshness, seeing the likes of Iron Man and Star Lord (Chris Pratt) hanging out for the first time is unmistakably gratifying, even if the character interactions are a little more subdued given the sheer number of characters the Russos have to juggle.
Winner: Infinity War gets a significant boost from the various hero combinations and Thanos' long-awaited arrival, but there's something about the uniqueness of the original 2012 team-up movie that even Infinity War's awe-inspiring scale can't quite replicate. The original still feels the freshest.
