3. Carmine Falcone
A lot of the characters here are portrayals it would be very interesting to see Mahershala Ali take on. His filmography is already quite eclectic, and Blade plus potentially The Batman are only going to diversify it further. With Carmine Falcone though, Ali has a chance to use his wealth of experience from his previous comic book roles.
Mafia head honcho Carmine Falcone isn’t a million miles away from Ali’s Cottonmouth role in Luke Cage. That short lived role only lasted six episodes, and left all of us wanting more.
Marvel have duly obliged by bringing Ali to the MCU through Blade, but DC could swoop in tap into Ali’s brilliance as Cottonmouth.
Though he’s not as much of a blockbuster villain as some others in Batman’s rogues gallery, Falcone is perfect for a gritty, crime infested Gotham. As a lurking, recurring presence in the background, Ali could really sink his teeth into the role.
It might not be as expansive as some of the others on offer, but as a seasoned character actor, Ali would excel in a slow burner role too. With several villains allegedly set to feature, Falcone could be pulling the strings behind the scenes.
