The Batman: 10 Things We Need To See In Matt Reeves' Reboot

4. More Off-Beat Villains

The Batman Hush
DC

Batman’s rogues gallery is arguably the best in comic book history. With bigger names like the Joker, Two-Face, The Riddler, and Mister Freeze, it’s simple to translate the heavy hitters to the big screen for an easy win at the box office and with fans. However, Batman’s less common foes are often some of the most compelling. Excluding a throwaway reference to Victor Zsasz in Batman Begins, there have not been enough chances for these oddballs to shine.

Characters like the Dollmaker, Hush, Clayface, and even more recent inclusions like the Court of Owls or Mister Bloom could all make exceptional villains on screen. As mentioned previously, a lot of these villains could play very well toward a sympathetic and more intimate portrayal, allowing for more investment in the story.

As Batman is no stranger to Hollywood, injecting some fresh concepts and challenges would be a much better choice than to go the safe route and start casting for the sixth iteration of the Joker.
