The Batman: 10 Things We Need To See In Matt Reeves' Reboot

5. Less Bruce Wayne

While the cinematic portrayals of Bruce Wayne have been good, if not a little kooky at times (looking at you, Michael Keaton), the beats of the Bruce Wayne portion across the various stories never seem to deviate much.

Most often, viewers are given scenes of Bruce Wayne trying to explain to his socialite friends and colleagues what he does at night. There are usually love interests tied closer to Bruce Wayne’s story than to Batman’s, and there is the common theme of duality between the two identities.

However, in the comics, the concept of duality (at least, regarding the main character) is less often thrown into the limelight. There has been a sense for years that Batman is very much in a comfortable balance between his two identities, and is much more Batman than he is Bruce Wayne.

Showcasing more of the Dark Knight than the billionaire philanthropist is a good opportunity to keep the story on par with the feel of a Batman comic book.

Living in a place colder than it is north of The Wall, Brad keeps warm with all the excitement that comes from a good anime series, comic book, or movie. Being an opinionated sort of fellow puts him in a precarious position with friends and strangers, but applying that superpower to the world of writing seems to be doing alright for him.
