6. Their Base Of Operations Are Similar
The Batman has taken a page out of David Fincher’s Se7en by making The Riddler similar to that movie’s villain, John Doe. When we get to The Riddler’s apartment, it is similar to John Doe’s in that it is a creepy insight into how his mind works - The apartment is messy and dirty; it is full of pictures and documents about his criminal targets practically all over the walls and in all over the tables.
We get hand-written journals from The Riddler full of words from page to page, and it is disturbing how there are so many of them. As if there is no end in thinking of ways to get to his victims and the hows and whys he does it is important to preserve.
But wait, isn’t the Batcave the same, only the rich recluse version? When we see the Batcave, it is dark, dirty, and messy. Information about different criminals is all over the tables and is archived in the computers. Batman even has a journal he writes on every night as if the hows and whys he does things just like his enemy.
