The Batman Sequel: 10 Possible Villains (And Who Should Play Them)

6. Scarecrow – Jamie Campbell Bower

There’s nothing quite like that Stranger Things fame; just ask Jamie Campbell Bower.

Jamie’s featured in a host of notable projects, though his standout role as the villainous Vecna within the latest season of the popular Netflix sci-fi series has shot him into superstardom. Bower’s performance as the friend turned foe for Eleven is disturbing and despicable, and fancasts’ have been strife across the internet for some time now as to whom the popular Englishman could play next. Yet, it’s difficult to dissociate Jamie from playing a character curated of pure evil such as Scarecrow.

The villain, otherwise known as Dr Jonathan Crane, is unique in the sense that he fears Batman. However, it is said fear that allows him to harness and inflict such psychological damage on the Caped Crusader. Reeves’ Gotham is susceptible to darkness, and the prospect of Scarecrow’s abominable fear toxin infecting the city’s residents would pose a fascinating challenge for Pattinson’s Dark Knight to solve.

Though he will be keen to avoid being typecast as the baddie too often, Stranger Things offered the 33-year-old the opportunity to personify the duality of both man and monster, and the chance of witnessing Jamie’s chilling on-screen presence partnered with his pale blue eyes peering through a tattered and torn scarecrow mask would make for a truly terrifying prospect.
