The Best Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

13. Quantum Of Solace: Hotel Showdown

Daniel Craig Casino Royale
MGM

Many will be surprised to see something from Quantum of Solace so high up, but this finale deserves a good ranking.

Quantum of Solace, although it was a disappointing follow-up to Casino Royale, is not as bad as you remember anyway and many have probably forgotten that this finale, set in a burning hotel in the desert, is actually pretty brilliant.

With intense, visceral action, awesome fire effects and a wonderful sense of understated emotion running through the entire thing, this finale is absolutely dazzling. Better still, the shaky-cam that dogs the rest of the film is largely absent and this allows the film to go out on a major high.

Extra points for the scenes that follow - Dominic Greene's (Mathieu Amalric) wonderfully savage death and the powerful final conversation between Bond and Camille (Olga Kurylenko), the film's Bond Girl, before they part ways.

All in all, this closing section is the only great part of Quantum of Solace, although there are some touching dialogue scenes and perfectly decent action moments earlier on in this under-appreciated Bond film as well.
