The Best Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

14. Thunderball: Harpoon Kill

Daniel Craig Casino Royale
MGM

Thunderball might be the worst Bond film of the 1960s, but it is still a fun action film with some very memorable scenes.

The terrifying shark pool sequence and the insane underwater finale linger in the memory too, but it's this sublime kill scene which stands out as one of the all-time best Bond moments.

Bond and main Bond Girl Domino (Claudine Auger) are on the beach making plans to stop Emile Largo for carrying out his deranged scheme. Meanwhile, a henchman named Vargas is approaching them and preparing a gun.

Domino says "Vargas' behind you." Bond absent-mindedly replies "Really?" Seconds later, Bond casually turns around, picks up his harpoon gun and shoots Vargas with perfect accuracy. "I think he got the point." quips Bond.

This is a classic and beautiful moment of badassery from Bond and a great example of the ultra-cool vibe which made the franchise so beloved. That post-kill one-liner is one of Bond's finest too.
