Stephen King probably came up with the idea for Christine, his story about a supernaturally possessed car, during that dark period of his life when he was always strung out on one substance or another.
The eponymous 1958 Plymouth Fury makes a brief cameo in model form, nestled among Jake's toys. Presumably this version isn't possessed by a tiny spiritual entity.
John Carpenter brought Christine to cinema in 1983, and it seems like it's one of the few King movies that doesn't have a remake it the pipeline.
