1. It Strains Credibility...Even For The Franchise
Look, the Fast and the Furious franchise is fueled by its own absurdity, but even the series has its limits, especially when it arguably compromises that core theme of family that's ever-so-important.
The real issue here is Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw joining the team to take down Cipher. The film makes surprisingly little effort to hand-waive the fact he murdered Han, and when it's all said and done, it feels like the gang were far too keen to forgive him for such an horrendous act.
Criticising the script's lack of nuance is a thankless task in a series such as this, but it still felt like this aspect could've used another scene or two to just emphasise how desperately they needed Shaw to bring Cipher down.
