2. Chapter 5 - Black Night, White Hell
Now we return to Joe Gage confessing to poisoning the coffee. Chris is about to shoot him, when Daisy confesses that Joe is part of her brother's gang, and explains to Warren and Chris that Jody is her brother. More to the point, Jody is worth 50k, and each of his gang members 10k. Warren and Chris ask Joe to start talking, at which point he walks over to a table underneath which he stashed a pistol in the previous chapter, while spinning another story to dupe Warren and Chris as Jody lies in wait below. Bob and Oswaldo also retrieve their own hidden guns as the situation grows more and more uneasily tense. Chris pours Joe a cup of the poison coffee and points a gun at him, telling him to drink it. He and Warren then announce their plans to hang Daisy after he dies, having become proper "compadres" as Tarantino so aptly puts it. And just then, it all explodes into violence.
