The Hunt Review: 8 Ups & 5 Downs

Ups

8. The Gore

Imagine if The Hunger Games wasn't for kids and they'd let all of those kids actually stab, slice, shoot and shoot the living beejesus out of each other. And if those kids were so deplorable - yes, that word IS appropriate no matter what the controversy - that you actually wanted to see them given the Saw and Final Destination treatment.

That's about where The Hunt pitches its tent and its delightful.

Right from the opening place-set scene, it's very clear that there is no concern for censoring for a rating and there's almost an exploitation movie's commitment to blood and gore. It's like watching something a lot older in that respect, with better effects and a bigger budget to sell it.
