With just a $7 Million budget and likely strong word of mouth, it seems likely that this film will make a significant profit. There will be some extra costs for publicity, but nothing that will greatly impact on the all important bottom line. Any potential Oscar buzz around Moss' performance also wouldn't hurt for future viewings.

Hats off must go to Blumhouse productions, which manages to churn out profitable films even when the product isn't all that strong. Their films can become extremely formulaic and can look a little cheap at times, but the concentration on tension building over special effects is one they have been rewarded for.

I mean if it worked for Hitchcock, it can't be that bad of a formula. Note to Blumhouse: We eagerly await your modern adaptation of The Birds.
