There are three standout performances here, but none more so than the phenomenal acting powerhouse produced by Elizabeth Moss. The star of The Handmaid's Tale makes every post a winner, even making silly scenes that shouldn't work seem like they're Shakespeare. There is not one single moment when Moss' performance isn't 100% authentic, even when the script pushes a little too far.

Credit must also be given to Aldis Hodge as Detective James Lanier, the friend who Cecilia stays with. It is a character that could easily have been portrayed as purely one dimensional, but Hodge always brings an earnestness to the role, often making you empathise with his character as much as you do for Moss'.

The remaining actors are all solid, including Fifty Shades' James Dorman who does his best with a weak role, but it is Harriet Dyer as Cecilia's sister who is the other standout performance. Dyer doesn't get a lot of screen time but her chemistry with Moss is first rate, her ability to portray her love for her sister, but also the hurt lumped upon her is acting of the highest order.
