The Matrix Resurrections: 10 Questions We Have From The Trailer

6. Who Is In Neo's Reflection?

One of the strangest images in the trailer shows Neo standing in front of a mirror where he envisions the face of an older man overlapping with his own.

Some fans noted that the face looks a little like Agent Smith actor Hugo Weaving, though given Weaving's apparent lack of involvement in the film and the mental gymnastics required to explain his face appearing in Neo's reflection, we're going to say that's not the case.

It's surely more likely that Neo is seeing an older version of himself, likely one of the several trippy side effects he experiences after throwing the blue pills away.

But still, what does this mean? Depending on the time interval between the end of Revolutions and Resurrections, it's possible that we're seeing a flash of Neo's "true" age, or perhaps different versions of Neo are bleeding into one another somehow.

Then again, it's entirely possible this is nothing more than a quick symptom of blue pill withdrawal that has no real bearing on the plot beyond looking cool in a trailer.
