The Single Biggest Mistake Each MCU Film And TV Show Has Made

12. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings - Making Its Hero The Least-Interesting Part Of The Movie

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a lot of fun, and definitely one of the few bright spots of Phase 4. That being said, it failed to build a compelling hero.

That's not to say anything against Simu Liu's admirable work in the role of Shang-Chi/Shaun, but there really wasn't a lot to this character and he got effortlessly overshadowed by every single other character in the movie. Speaking of which, it was actually main antagonist the Mandarin (a wonderful Tony Leung) who got the most meaningful character development in the, while Shaun is a fairly static, by-the-numbers hero throughout the film.

Whenever Shaun does return (a direct sequel to this movie hasn't been confirmed), hopefully he'll be fleshed out a bit more.
