The Single Biggest Mistake Every James Bond Film Has Made
3. Quantum Of Solace: Coming Out Too Soon
Quantum of Solace is the weirdest Bond film ever made. A downbeat, messy and small-scale revenge thriller, this is one of the most maligned James Bond films and while this isn't necessarily deserved - after all, the action is very solid and there are some nice emotional moments in there too - it is an undeniable disappointment. What makes things worse is that there was such an easy fix in sight: delay the film by a year or two.
Thanks to the 2008 Writers Strike, the film's production was very troubled and Daniel Craig literally had to write some of the script himself. Due to how chaotic, under-written and plot-free the film is, one gets the sense that it wasn't ready for cinemas yet.
Had it been delayed for a year (or more) and given a few more re-writes, it's likely we would've had a far more coherent and well-plotted film than the one we ultimately got.
