The Single Biggest Mistake Every James Bond Film Has Made

2. Skyfall: Silva's Ridiculous Plan

Skyfall is an amazing movie and arguably the greatest James Bond film ever made. Both an exhilarating thrill ride and a superb, surprisingly affecting character study of James Bond that has some phenomenal performances in the bargain, Skyfall is a modern classic of blockbuster cinema.

There aren't many issues, as it should go without saying, but one thing which many have rightly called out is the utterly stupid nature of Raoul Silva's (a flawless Javier Bardem) plan to escape from MI6 custody.

It's reliant on many, many coincidences and unforeseeable events, including Silva somehow knowing exactly where he'd be imprisoned and somehow knowing exactly where to place a bomb in order to derail a tube train (in an attempt to kill Bond). Inexplicably, this ridiculous plan actually works too.

Still, aside from this and that awful scene involving Bond seducing a former sex slave, Skyfall is a nearly perfect action film.
