The Single Greatest Thing In Each MCU Movie
1. Shang Chi: The Legend Of The Ten Rings - The Mandarin
Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings is pretty decent. It's not amazing or anything - the arc of the main hero too often feels like an afterthought, it's got a somewhat safe feel and some of the CGI is atrocious - but it is a good superhero origin story and a bit of relief after the mediocrity of most of the other post-Infinity War MCU joints.
As for the best thing in it, there are other highlights such as the world-building, the fight scenes and Awkwafina's hilarious performance but in the end, it's got to go to the film's villain, Wenwu/The Mandarin (Tony Leung) - the real one, not the actor from Iron Man 3.
A sympathetic and layered villain who's excellently played by Leung, Wenwu is up there with the best MCU bad guys and you'll absolutely love to hate him. Wenwu is also by far the character in the film with the best development and the most satisfying, emotionally affecting story conclusion, so he completely steals the show.
As disappointing as most of the post-Infinity War MCU films have been, this character and this film as a whole does hint that this franchise has life left in it yet.
