Of all the characters James Gunn brought into his version of the team, Mongal was perhaps one of the most obscure, and certainly had the potential to be one of the most interesting.

She is the only one of the team not from Planet Earth after all, but like most of her half of Task Force X, she was killed before anyone could get to know her.

During the battle with the Corto Maltese army, amid the bullets, blood, and gore, Mongal sought to bring down an enemy helicopter from the sky. She leapt up and hung from the bottom for an impressive amount of time before completing her goal.

However, bringing a helicopter down to the ground in such a way was always going to result in a fiery explosion, and the alien warrior was always going to get caught up in it. There was a reason Rick Flag tried to talk her out of her insane plan, but she didn’t listen.

She managed to take down the helicopter and a few soldiers on the ground with it, but also herself and one more from Task Force X…
