13. It Feels Disjointed - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

People were worried that The Avengers would be a jumbled mess due to having an excessive amount of characters. Although this wasn't the case, that's exactly what happened to Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Thor's quest for the Infinity Stones feels sporadic and forced. With no build up, Hulk and Black Widow are suddenly a couple. Tony Stark dons the Iron Man suit once again, even though he gave it up at the end of Iron Man 3.

To understand why these moments don't work, you have to look at the moments that do. The scene where the team take turns to pick up Thor's hammer is great because it gives the audience a chance to breathe. We see the Avengers as people rather than superheroes, making us genuinely care about them.

It's a shame the rest of the story focuses on overblown action, convoluted storylines, and clumsily setting up future movies.
