Thor: Love & Thunder: 10 Questions It Leaves Unanswered
4. Did Gorr Kill The Grandmaster & Eitri?
Despite Jeff Goldblum and Peter Dinklage both mentioning pre-release that they were reprising their roles of the Grandmaster and Eitri the Dwarf King for the movie, neither character made it into the final film, with their scenes being left on the cutting room floor.
Curiously, Christian Bale also mentioned that he shot scenes with both actors, sparking immediate speculation among fans that Gorr may have actually killed them both.
Granted Gorr tends to keep his killing to gods, and Grandmaster and Eitri are certainly not gods, but could Gorr have killed them for standing in his way while he attempted to reach New Asgard, or something similar?
It admittedly isn't easy to picture the Grandmaster laying his life down for anybody, but it's even tougher to picture Gorr interacting with these two and actually leaving them alive.
Considering there's a solid chance we won't see either of these characters again in the MCU, it may well have been that this was their on-screen curtain call, but it got cut for time or pacing reasons.
This should actually be clarified in due course when the film hits Disney+ and home video, where deleted scenes featuring the two will likely be released.
