6. Red Skull Appears On Sakaar

The Rumour: An undeniably daft rumour started doing the rounds over the last few months that Red Skull might appear in the film, with the wormhole that opened from the Tesseract at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger transporting him to the universe's ultimate scrapheap, Sakaar.

The Truth: It's a cute, fan-servicey idea, but no, this never really seemed on the cards because a) it seems awfully random to just bring Red Skull back some six years after he apparently died and b) Hugo Weaving hasn't ever seemed particularly enthusiastic about reprising his role.

Sorry folks, Red Skull is probably never coming back. It's time to accept it and move on.
