Thor: Ragnarok - 26 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

25. Shady Acres

Ace Ventura Shady Acres

After Thor convinces Loki to head to Earth to find Odin, they head to New York to the retirement home Loki had their father interned in under a confundment charm only to discover that the place is a worksite and the home has been demolished.

Hilariously, the home was called Shady Acres, which is the same name as the Psychiatric Institution that Ace Ventura attempts to infiltrate in Pet Detective to find out the mystery of Ray Finkle. The same name also appears in Happy Gilmore (the retirement home Happy's grandma goes to), in South Park Season 6 (again as a retirement home), and in GTA Vice City.

It's actually a double layer Easter Egg too, as the Institution in Ace Ventura was named after producer Tom Shadyac, who set up the Shady Acres Entertainment and who produced Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
