Thor: Ragnarok Trailer - 9 Big Questions We're Left With

5. Who Is Heimdall Fighting, And What Happened To Him?

Idris Elba's Heimdall is an awesome character that hasn't really been given the amount of screen time he deserves, so it's nice to see that he'll be getting in on the action in Ragnarok.

But... who (or what) is he slashing with his sword? Is this enemy in some way related to Hela, given the visual similarities? Or is this just a random alien creature that will serve to give Heimdall an action scene?

Before you even get to the fight itself, though, you have to ask... how did Heimdall end up here? This doesn't look like Asgard, but since Heimdall rarely travels too far from his home realm, it makes sense that it is Asgard, so where are the buildings?.

This location could be on the outskirts of the golden city; if you look at the aerial shots of the main palace in the trailer, you can see plenty of grassy areas dotted in and around the mountains that could be the location of Heimdall's showdown.

Putting all this together, we're guessing that Hela does indeed take over Asgard (perhaps by burning it to the ground and ruling over the wasteland) as we mentioned earlier, and creates an army of minions - like the one Heimdall is fighting - to help her subdue any resistance.

Heimdall senses danger so he escapes before all this goes down, and the rest of the movie will see him trying to take the city back, which involves - you guessed it - murdering any of Hela's minions he comes across.
