20 Movies and TV Shows That Made Actors QUIT Genres

1. Dakota Johnson - Madame Web

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been past its peak for a number of years now, but Sony's Spider-Man Universe has always been bad. The franchise's best three films are the three Venom outings, and though they aren't terrible, the fact that none of the others come even close to them is upsetting.

The aforementioned others are of course the universally panned and trolled Morbius, the largely forgettable Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web, Sony's half-hearted attempt to bring several spider-based characters into the universe.

The list of things wrong with the movie is painfully long, from the major superheroes teased in the trailers only actually appearing in dreams, to an unlikable protagonist at the best of times and a story that just failed to get off the ground. Unsurprisingly, Dakota Johnson, whose involvement with a superhero property may have been surprising in the first place, has no desire to return to the genre again.

She has at least been able to have a sense of humour about it, poking fun at her own movie's shortcomings, and has said that her being in that world "doesn't make sense". It's not something too many would argue with after Madame Web.
