12. The Introduction of Pussy Galore (Goldfinger, 1964)
http://youtu.be/OkChbEu3hKE After Goldfinger lets Bond live after nearly slicing him in half with a laser, he's shot with a tranquilizer and wakes up on Goldfinger's private jet. We see, from his blurry perspective, a gorgeous woman coming in to focus. She smiles at Bond and says "My name is Pussy Galore," to which he says "I must be dreaming." This is a lot more tame than Bond's, supposedly, original line, "I know you are but what's your name." Though to be fair, as crude as it would be, could we blame Bond for saying something like that to a woman who looked like actress Honor Blackman? At the time, Blackman was playing Cathy Gale on the British spy series "The Avengers" alongside Patrick Macnee. Future Bond girl Diana Rigg would also join the show in 1965 as Emma Peel. What's great about this introductory sequence is it shows that Pussy, Goldfinger's pilot, is "immune" to Bond's charms and isn't just going to fall in to his arms, cooing "Oh, James." She was arguably the most strong willed of the Bond girl at the time. Blackman, 38 at the time, was the first actress to be older than the actor playing James Bond. She was also the oldest actress to play a Bond girl at the time.
