8. It's Not JUST About Forky

When it was revealed that Forky was apparently going to be a major part of the story of Toy Story 4, there were some concerns expressed in the fan community. The idea of a franchise previously invested in such grand ideas as mortality, emotional redundancy and community would be focused solely on a spork not wanting to be a spork was clearly a little difficult to take.

Even the fans of Forky would have conceded that focusing on him as the ONLY narrative thrust was probably a step too far. But luckily Pixar aren't going that way. Instead, this trailer confirms that Toy Story 4 is in fact only really using Forky as a means to tie back to some long-running ideas of the nature of existence while also serving as a story catalyst to get Woody back to Bo Peep.

The main story will focus on that element, which is much better to hear.
