The stakes in this film are pretty high, considering the implications Will's actions will have on the human race. As I said, he's attempting to give mankind an evolutional leap, something we're probably not ready for when he starts putting his plan into motion. What is his plan? To use intelligent machines to replace the inferior, obsolete humans? Or is he trying to bring the rest of the world to the same transcendent level he's experiencing? The trailer seems to suggest the latter, at least based on the brief glimpses of him building or "fixing" human bodies. He even seems to rebuild his own body, so I doubt that he's content with just living inside the internet forever. In any case, it will be interesting to see what Pfister does with the concept, since he has the chance here to not only make a good sci-fi thriller, but tell a story about the limitations of humanity and the dangers that technology pose to our future as a species.
