Uma Thurman: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Medusa - Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief

Uma failed to learn the lessons of Poison Ivy when she signed on for Medusa in Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief. Maybe she was offered a whole boatload of money or the idea of playing a character with snakes for hair was too much fun to resist, but whatever the reason it was a bad choice. Percy Jackson was an attempt to launch a Harry Potter style franchise and was just about successful enough to spawn one sequel. The movies are about a young demigod caught up in a war between the old Greek gods. Thurman's Medusa comes after him and his friends in a garden and she gives the same awful campy performance from Batman And Robin. The eyes are buggy and the line delivery is straight out of a bad panto. Again she€™s trying to have some fun with the role which just doesn€™t translate to the audience. The hair of snakes is a nice visual but when she is swiftly decapitated by Percy about halfway through nobody mourns her loss. What are some of your favourite Uma Thurman roles? Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
