2. Emma Peel - The Avengers
No, not that Avengers. The only links between Joss Whedons film and this is the title and a female lead wearing a skin tight leather outfit. One film is a fun adventure filled with great characters, dialogue and special effects. The other one stars Uma Thurman. This Avengers was based on the classic British TV show of the same name. Thurman and Ralph Fiennes co-star as British agents who team up to stop a crazed scientist from controlling the weather, played by Sean Connery in a teddy bear suit. The movie was a notorious flop when it came out, which was partly down to the studio editing it down from two hours to a barely coherent eighty minutes before release. Just like the show the premise relies heavily on the chemistry of the main actors but Uma and Ralph dont share any. Theres no wit or spark between them and her atrocious posh British accent doesnt help. She looks awkward and clumsy in the action scenes and both she and Fiennes were nominated for Razzie awards for their work. The nominations were well earned.
