Uma Thurman: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

4. Debby Miller - Hysterical Blindness

This TV movie was clearly a passion project for Thurman as she produced it as well as playing the main character. She stars as a woman diagnosed with Hysterical Blindness, where her vision suddenly comes and goes, who is desperate to find love at any cost. This causes her to chase any potential man so fiercely that she usually scares them away. She is loud and brash but feels deeply lonely inside, but she manages to find some help through her family and friends. Thurman does a great job of playing a character that is slightly board and annoying but making her feel real at the same time. Debby isn€™t always easy to like but at least the viewer can understand why she acts the way she does. This performance is one of her most raw and honest and she later won a Golden Globe for her work.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
