20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Are Already DOOMED

Twilight of the Dead was originally conceived to be the concluding entry into George A. Romero's legendary zombie franchise, but with Romero's passing in 2017, those plans seemingly came to an end.

However, in 2021 his widow Suzanne Romero resurrected the project and oversaw completion of the script.

Since then, the franchise-capper has gone through numerous personnel changes. 

Initially, The Machinist director Brad Anderson was brought aboard in 2023, with Milla Jovovich confirmed to star in 2024.

However, shooting was delayed in 2025 due to financing issues, and as of 2026, Anderson has been replaced as director by The Paz Brothers (Jeruzalem), while Kate Beckinsale is now starring instead of Jovovich.

Since the reshuffling was confirmed in May, word has gone deathly quiet on the film, and with Suzanne Romero herself passing away in June, it's tough not to feel like Twilight of the Dead might've well and truly evaporated into the ether.

And even if not, the behind-the-scenes changes certainly suggest a project that's struggling to come together.
