20 Upcoming Movies That Have Made ONE Big Mistake

6. Changing The Title - Idiots

Idiots is a new comedy film from Macon Blair (I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore) starring Dave Franco and O'Shea Jackson Jr. as two down-and-out scumbags who are tasked with transporting a rich, troubled teen (Mason Thames) to rehab.

The movie received solidly positive reviews from its Sundance premiere back in January, and the trailer certainly looks like a riot, though it's a damn shame that distributor Independent Film Company decided to change its title.

Blair's film premiered under the moniker "The S**theads," though back in April after being acquired for distribution, the title was changed to Idiots.

Sure, from a marketing and SEO perspective you can see why the title was changed, but considering this is already a film with a relatively niche appeal per its abrasive comedic sensibilities, why not commit to the more coarse and attention-grabbing original name?

"Idiots" is just so generic and tossed-off by comparison, and makes it decidedly less likely anyone is going to actually remember the film within a few short weeks of release.
