20 Upcoming Movies That Have Made ONE Big Mistake

5. Letting Peter Farrelly Direct - I Play Rocky

As movies about the making of movies go, I Play Rocky at least has some compelling dramatic meat on its bones, considering that the story of Rocky's creation is almost as interesting as the Best Picture-winning film itself.

Anthony Ippolito also seems to be suitably channelling the essence of Sylvester Stallone, though the one major point of contention is the man in the director's chair - Peter Farrelly.

Farrelly, best known for his run of iconic '90s comedies such as Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary, made a surprise pivot into dramatic territory with his Best Picture-winning 2018 film Green Book, after which he pinged back to working on a string of low-brow, mostly critically-panned comedies.

Nothing in Farrelly's recent output suggests Green Book to be anything more than a career fluke, so while I Play Rocky has a lot going for it on paper, it'll be constantly working against Farrelly's shakier filmmaking sensibilities.
