20 Upcoming Movies Absolutely NOBODY Wants

14. Taika Waititi's Judge Dredd

While there is absolutely demand for a new Judge Dredd movie, most fans are still chomping at the bit for a follow-up to 2012's surprisingly great Karl Urban-starring Dredd, which sadly flopped at the box office.

And though Hollywood was always going to move forward with another reboot eventually, few would've ever expected Taika Waititi to be associated with it.

But last July, the Thor: Love and Thunder director was confirmed to be helming a new take on Dredd with a script from Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, The Fall Guy).

Waititi is certainly a talented filmmaker, but nothing he's made in the past suggests he's a good, solid, natural fit for the world of Judge Dredd.

The early word indicates that Waititi's new Dredd will cleave away the grit of the 2012 film and instead opt for a darkly comedic, "fun" blockbuster, which sounds like a far leap away from what many Dredd fans would actually like to see.

There are many filmmakers who would be an obvious fit for something like this - Gareth Evans and Ben Wheatley, to name just two - but Waititi? Nah.
